About

MaterialWhiz is a small independent site of material calculators for DIY and home-improvement projects. Each one is built to answer a single practical question: how much do I need to buy?

We publish the formula, the assumptions and a worked example for every calculator, and test our math against manufacturer data and other published calculators. Read how we calculate.

The site is supported by advertising. Ads never sit between the inputs and your results.

We don't publish personal profiles. Instead, every page lists the published sources its numbers come from (manufacturer data sheets, university extension guides, building codes and industry associations), so you can check them yourself. If you spot an error, please tell us through the contact page and we'll correct it.

Published by MaterialWhiz Editorial Team. We maintain the calculators, review the assumptions, and welcome corrections at MaterialWhiz.support@gmail.com.
